April Meeting – Crafting Make-up Bags With Mary

We couldn’t have had a better April meeting, a great start to the first at our new home, Friends Meeting House.

Our very own member Mary directed and assisted us through decorating makeup bags, zhuzhed up with iron on transfers. So many choices of decorations available, from spots, triangles, flowers, hearts and our Spa Sweetheart name, in a wide range of colours, lovingly prepared by Mary ahead of time. She did an absolute sterling job, making for a successful evening. A wonderful social event with friendly chat, whilst every lady joined in to each make one or more of the useful bags. The bags described as makeup bags, also lend themselves for multi uses such as pencils, crochet hooks, or hair accessories. The evening was a smash hit, with the ladies leaving happy at the end of the night.

We navigated the kitchen with slick teamwork, which all ran very smoothly, ever the professionals! The usual refreshments were on offer with a varying choice of hot or cold drinks and a piece of homemade buttercream and lemon curd Victoria Sponge cake. You could look at the book table display and see if anything caught your eye or next month, maybe bring along books that are looking for a new home.

May Meeting

Who enjoys a good read? Well, for our May meeting we have a visit from the bestselling author Amanda Prowse. Often referred to as the “Queen of family Drama.” who has penned numerous books under the genre of women’s fiction covering emotional, family drama and realistic stories of ordinary people, yet still focuses on hope. If you’d like to read one of her books ahead of the meeting, Felicity posted a helpful listed of suggestions on Spa Sweethearts WI Facebook page or maybe google options online. All members and guest are welcome to join us on Thursday May 14th for an interesting and informative evening, the doors opening at 7-15 for a 7-30 start. Looking forward to seeing you there.
