Welcome
Welcome to Spa Sweethearts Women’s Institute, a group of inspiring woman who enjoy learning, new experiences and having fun!
Our monthly meetings are varied – we’ve had speakers on a huge variety of topics, learnt all sorts of crafts and tried everything from gong baths to gothic dancing! We also meet regularly throughout the month at our smaller and more informal sub-groups.

Our sub-groups are smaller and more informal than our main monthly meetings making it easier to get to know fellow sweethearts whilst enjoying shared interests.

Our social sweethearts enjoy regular trips to the theatre and cinema and evenings out for meals and drinks.

Book Group
The book groups meets at a town centre venue to discuss the ‘book of the month’ and socialise.

Café Sweethearts
A relaxed and sociable meet-up at various local cafes for a cuppa, lots of chatting and of course… cake!
MEETS MONTHLY ON A MORNING
Craft Group
A relaxed and sociable get together for all things crafty – learn a new craft or bring along your own.
MEETS MONTHLY ON AN EVENING
Gardening Group
Regular trips to gardens, such as RHS Harlow Carr, for a walk and, of course, tea and cake if there’s a cafe!
USUALLY MEETS ON A WEEKEND
Board Games
This group is a relaxed and social meet-up. Members enjoy playing games – and a good cheeseboard!

Our Story
It all started in 2011 when three women were looking for a WI that would fit around their busy lives as working women and mothers, where they could meet other like-minded women. Unable to find a local group that fit their needs they set up Spa Sweethearts. Nearly fourteen years later our group continues to flourish, with members from twenty-something to seventy plus, who have a wide range of interests but one thing in common – a desire to learn, have fun and socialise.
Our Story
