July 2018: Screen Printing

For our July meeting it was all hands on deck to set up a fabulous evening of screen printing. Several Sweethearts had been on a craft evening back in November with Stitch and Screen on Cold Bath Road and we thought it would be a fun thing to try at a meeting.  Many thanks to Lu and Stephanie of Stitch and Screen who patiently took us through the process of producing our own screen printed masterpiece.  Many of us had never tried this before but we all helped each other to carefully cut out and then print our designs onto a simple bag. We had to work together as printing is a two or three woman job but everyone was really pleased with their results and many amazing designs were created. Several members chose designs with hearts or sweetheart on them so look out around town for some beautiful WI bags on people’s arms. A new banner was also printed which will be on show at our next meeting in August where the crafty theme continues with pattern cutting. See you there for more inspiration….
