I was lucky enough to be at the founding meeting for the spa sweethearts where we voted on a name. It’s hard to believe so much time has passed since and it has been wonderful to be part of and see it evolve. When I heard Bex was looking to form a WI in Harrogate I thought that would be a fun thing to do and I would get to meet new people and learn new things. It lived up to all my expectations and more. After a couple of years I joined the committee and became the MCS rep dealing with the members contacts database. I have always enjoyed my time on the committee. When my Dad passed away I asked my mum to join and now it is something we both enjoy doing together. I work in Knaresborough and spend most of my time behind a screen so I look forward to the 2nd Thursday of the month to interact with people. I think my main take away from Spa Sweethearts is getting to try things I wouldn’t normally and the friendships. Sometimes I might think a meeting is not for me but I always enjoy them and sometimes learn a new skill but definitely not bread making!
